Polish Hamburgers - The Tipsy Housewife



These Polish Hamburgers are a delicious blend of beef, pork, and veal, seasoned with traditional Polish spices. The result is a juicy and flavorful burger that's perfect for any occasion. The Tipsy Housewife adds her unique twist to this classic recipe, making it a must-try for burger enthusiasts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 lb ground veal
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp caraway seeds
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion
  • 4 pickle slices
  • Ketchup and mustard, for serving

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, ground veal, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, black pepper, marjoram, paprika, and caraway seeds

Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties

Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat

Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and allow it to melt

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster

To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese

Top with a slice of tomato, a slice of red onion, and a pickle slice

Add ketchup and mustard to your taste

Place the top half of the bun on each burger to complete the assembly
